State Development Coach

One of Australia’s top swimming programs is currently looking for a coach to fill the vacant position of State Development Coach.

This fantastic opportunity at one of the country’s leading facilities offers many benefits including:-

* Working with swimmers who have qualified for state Level meets or who have the potential to swim at this level.

*Working with an experienced Head Coach who is extremely passionate and who loves to assist others in their professional development.

*Being part of a coaching team which is united in delivering excellence to achieve excellence.

*The opportunity of coaching approximately 20 hours per week. Potential for more under the Head Coach’s discretion.

*Working in an environment which offers the swimmers both short and long course training.

* Being an integral member of the Albany Creek Swimming Club which is home to International, National and State Representatives.

*Coaching in a club that finished 10th at this year’s Queensland State Championships and which is currently sitting in
2nd position in Brisbane’s Premiership club competition.

*Being associated with a club which was selected this season by Australian Swimming to be a part of their Coaching Mentoring
program. Knowledge gained by the Head Coach will be knowledge shared.



DUTIES INCLUDE:

*Coaching of current and potential State qualifiers.

*Planning and implementing season plans for these swimmers in consultation with the Head coach.

*Attending Club, District, Brisbane and Queensland championship competitions. This is an integral part of the role. The Head coach will inform the State Development coach of the swim meets that he/she will be required to attend.

*Liaising and attending meetings with other Albany Creek Leisure centre staff/swim coaches.

*Potentially covering for other coaches in their absence.

*Transitioning swimmers from the State Development squad into the National Development squad upon the Head Coaches

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT MUST BE:

Punctual

A team player who fully understands and respects their role

Extremely passionate about swimming coaching

Innovative in their session writing

Inspirational and motivational

Have a keen desire to learn and be thirsty for more knowledge

Hold the minimum of an ASCTA Bronze level coaching qualification (silver license beneficial but not a necessity)

Someone who is looking for the next progression in their coaching role and who has had some previous experience working with strong junior/state level swimmers.

Alternatively someone who has already coached for a number of years and who feels that they can offer something valuable to this role will also be considered.
