Dear Members,

We are excited to announce that the City of Moreton Bay have locked in dates for the refurbishment of the 50m and Indoor Heated Pools at the Albany Creek Leisure Centre and the works have now been confirmed. These essential works will ensure we continue to provide high‑quality aquatic facilities for our community.

The scope of works will include the following:

• Preparation and repainting the surface
• Removal and replacement of all tiles – including finger grip tiles at either end of the 50m pool
• Installation of compliant depth and warning tiles
• Replacement of wet-deck grates
• Refurbishment of moveable bulkhead
• Replacement of backstroke anchors and posts
• Replacement of stair handrails

Closure Timeline

• Works commence: Tuesday, 5 May 2026
• Expected completion: Mid‑August 2026
• Renovation will begin with the Indoor Program pool, which will be closed for approximately 7 weeks.
• Once the program pool reopens, work will continue on the 50m pool until mid‑August.

We will continue to update you as final details are confirmed in the coming weeks.

Membership & Visit Pass Options During Closure

To support our members during this period, we are offering a range of flexible alternatives:

Swim-Only Memberships & Visit Pass Holders

You may choose any of the following:

• Access Ferny Hills Pool or Lawnton Aquatic Centre for swimming at no additional cost
• Suspend your pass for the duration of the pool closure
• Switch to gym access instead of swimming during the renovation period (no cost difference)

GOswim Lessons

We are working on a plan for our GOswim lessons and will be sending out an email to all parents in the coming weeks. Please keep an eye out for communications regarding lessons. 

Squad Training Arrangements

To ensure consistency for our swimmers, squad programs will temporarily relocate across Lawnton Aquatic centre and Ferny Hills Pool as follows:

Junior & Intermediate Squads

• Afternoons only
• Sessions split between Ferny Hills and Lawnton

State Development & State Squads

• AM sessions: Ferny Hills
• PM sessions: Lawnton

National Squads

• AM sessions: Ferny Hills
• PM sessions:
  • Monday & Thursday: Lawnton
  • Tuesday & Saturday: Gym only

SwimFit

• AM sessions only
• Join existing Ferny Hills Pool SwimFit groups
• Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate evening SwimFit during this period

Aqua Aerobics During Renovations

 We are working on a plan for our aqua classes, we will be able to hold classes at either Lawnton Aquatic centre or Ferny Hills pool and we are also planning some gentle land based classes here at ACLC – please stay tuned for further information.
